This church is located in the mountains outside of the resort city of Puerto Plata on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic in the village of Baraguana.  The village was once a busy bateye (housing barracks for farm workers) in the midst of a sugarcane farm and processing plant.  In the last few years the government has shut down the farming of sugarcane in this area and there is no longer work for the people who have stayed in this area.  A new church/school was built in 2012.  Pastor Paul Waldeck has been in this area for 20 years.  Along with his wife, Murielle who sadly passed away in 2021. Due to health issues Pastor Waldeck is no longer able to preach but is actively mentoring a new young pastor.
